Counterweight

A logic puzzle about balance. Monkeys hang from the branches of a tree, each holding a sign with its weight. Some signs are blank. Work out the missing numbers so every branch hangs level, remembering that a monkey far out on a branch pulls harder than one near the middle. No guessing, ever: every level has one answer and a clean line of reasoning to it.

The one rule

A branch balances when weight × distance is the same on both sides of its knot. A monkey weighing 2 hanging three notches out pulls exactly as hard as a monkey weighing 6 hanging one notch out.

Branches can hang from other branches. A hanging branch weighs whatever hangs from it, so the numbers you work out lower down tell you about the branch above, and the branch above tells you about the ones below. That back-and-forth is the whole game.

What's in it

Pure logic, no guessing

Every level was checked by a solver that reasons the way you do, with pencil-mark candidates on each blank sign. If a puzzle needed a lucky guess, it didn't make the cut. There is always a next deduction to find.

Four tiers, 40 levels each

Easy is one branch and a blank or two. Expert is a tree four branches deep with a dozen monkeys, where you juggle what a whole hanging branch must weigh. Levels within a tier ramp up in order.

The tree tells you

Fill a branch and it bows toward the heavier side while its monkeys hang on nervously. Get the whole tree level and everybody cheers. It's feedback, not the answer.

This is an early build we're playing ourselves and sharing to hear what you think. Tap the button on your Android phone, open the file, allow installs from your browser the first time, and install. To update later, download the new version and install it over the old one; your solved levels stay.
